OUR BLOG: SIMPLE SOLUTIONS FOR WELLNESS IN MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT!

Review: Barre 3

body mind Feb 26, 2018

Barre3 follows a philosophy that I have always followed. That is the integration of mind/body/spirit wellness.  Sadie Lincoln is one of the founders, along with her husband, and a founding partner of 24 hr fitness.  If I was in an area that had Barre3, I am sure it would be part of my rotation.  Their flagship studio is in Portland, Oregon.

Pros:  It seems to be a very well thought out program and Sadie is delightful.  She provides a great deal of variety and it seems that she and her team are always adapting and adding to the program.  She has online offerings and an active website.

Cons:  I felt the workout was not as hard as other barre classes.  To me,  it felt like a warm up.  Of course, for beginners, this is not a con at all.

Personal opinion:  Great for a beginner who is new to the barre or someone dealing with injuries.  I’m sure the studio classes are much more difficult and scalable to your fitness level.  As we age, it is important to have lots of stretching and elongating as we lose our flexibility.  Barre 3 seems to be very low impact yet effective in maintaining an agile body.
