Vision Boards
Mar 30, 2018
There is a reason why Pinterest is so popular! Having a place to put your ideas, thoughts and dreams can be very inspiring.
I started making vision boards back in college. At 19 I had lots of ideas of who I wanted to become and how and where I wanted to live my life. It wasn't always easy for me to focus though. I needed to look at my vision regularly.
I would take clippings from magazines, inspiring quotes, pictures of people that I admired, or scenes that I loved, and put them on poster board. I kept this board on the wall next to my bed so that I could see it first thing in the morning and right before I fell asleep. I still think this is useful, especially during a life transition or helping our children find their way.
The easiest way to do this is with a cork board which gives you the ability to upgrade an image as you fine tune your focus. I used poster board with a glue stick back then and that works just as well. It’s a simple and effective way to help you focus on what you value, especially when life’s errands keep us distracted.
Keep it fun and light. Change it whenever you wish, and don’t worry what anybody thinks about it. You may just find yourself accomplishing your desires easier than you imagined.
