Win the Morning!

I savor the mornings as it is my quiet time of the day where I feel sharp and ready to use my mind.  Of course the large cup of coffee beside me is always a help.  :)

Choosing to be intentional and to not allow negative thoughts to seep into the mind is really important.   Here are some tips that have helped me.  

S.  S stands for Silence.  Find a bit of time to be comfortable without distraction.

A. A is for affirmations.  Now is the perfect time to set your intention.

V. V stands for visualization. Visualizing yourself doing and feeling at your best is vital. 

E.  Exercise!

R.  Read to sharpen your mind and keep it that way!

If I have a morning appointment or am able to sleep in, this goes to another day.  With mid-life sleep issues and normal life, this is an ideal scenario.  Getting caught up in trying to live some perfect life and doing everything right all the time is too much stress. 

I often think about all the self-help advice given by "experts" and how it can make a person feel inadequate if they are not perfect.  The truth is that no one is perfect so always give yourself a break.

If you are able to be present for most of the day and share your love with others then you have already won the day!
